With over 15 years of experience in Intensive Care Medicine and a specialist appraiser since 2015, I have successfully supported the revalidation of over 100 appraisers across various medical disciplines. My mission is to enhance the quality of medical practice through personalized, reflective, and patient-centered appraisals, ensuring that every doctor I work with achieves excellence in their field. My Objectives
My role is to support appraisees in presenting appropriate, concise documentation that highlights their professional learning and development, avoiding unnecessary detail that detracts from the core purpose of the appraisal. I aim to help doctors summarise their learning and its impact effectively, ensuring compliance with GMC’s Good Medical Practice framework across key domains such as knowledge, safety, communication, and trust. A core objective is to identify and address any risks to patient safety or professional practice, escalating concerns to the Responsible Officer or Appraisal Lead where necessary. I focus on encouraging meaningful reflection, tracking progress on Personal Development Plans, and supporting the creation of new development goals, all while maintaining the highest standards of professional integrity and patient-centered care.
